Datto offers a fully integrated remote monitoring and management application, Datto RMM. We also support two types of third party vendor integrations.
Remote monitoring extensions and integrations
Datto integrations with Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) applications fall into two groups.
Remote Monitoring extensions:
The Remote Monitoring extensions were developed using a vendor's API. Setup involves multiple steps in both Autotask and the RMM application, and is vendor-specific. Supported features vary. Extensions are documented by Autotask.
Supported RMM Extensions include:
- Kaseya
RMM partner integrations
For a complete list of RMM integrations, refer to Remote monitoring and management (RMM) integrations.
Features of the Kaseya Managed Services Extension
The Kaseya Managed Services Extension allows you to import device and customer data from the service provider's remote monitoring software into Autotask. This is a two-step process:
- Your managed-services monitoring service automatically detects new devices on a customer’s network and makes the information available via a web service. Autotask Device Discovery periodically collects data on newly discovered devices from the web service and stores the data in Device Discovery batches until you process them using the Device Discovery Wizard.
- When Device Discovery batches are available for processing, you can use the Device Discovery Wizard to review the data in the batches and map monitoring service customers to Autotask Organizations, and devices to Devices. The wizard provides a number of features to facilitate the review and mapping process: automatic organization and product matching, organization and product search tools next to the appropriate fields, and the option to create new organizations or products automatically.
All Managed Services Extensions will also automatically create Autotask tickets from monitoring alerts. Some use the Autotask Web Services API and do not require an email parsing tool, others use an email parser and the Autotask Add Ticket Email Service (ATES) API to convert alerts into tickets.
The Kaseya Extension allows you to enable Round-Trip Ticket Closure. When enabled, the Round-Trip Closure feature automatically clears remote monitoring alerts when their corresponding Autotask ticket is set to complete.
