Creating and managing contracts

Searching and managing existing contracts

You can search for and manage existing contracts on the Contract Search page. The Manager security level is required. Refer to Searching and managing contracts.

Creating a contract

Contracts can be created in a variety of ways.

Creating or editing a contract

To create a new contract of any type, use the New Contract Wizard. Refer to Creating a contract.

Some fields behave differently when you edit an existing contract. Refer to Editing a contract.

Creating a recurring service contract from an opportunity or quote

From opportunities and quotes, a nice workflow exists that allows you to convert quoted services, service bundles and setup fees into a recurring service contract. Refer to Creating a recurring service contract from an opportunity or quote.

Copying an existing contract

One of the easiest ways to create a contract is copying an existing one. This is the recommended approach if you are using the same handful of standard contracts for multiple customers.

NOTE  Best practice is to create template contracts for your local organization, and copy them to customer accounts.

Refer to Copying an existing contract.

Renewing a recurring service contract

For recurring service contracts, there is the option of a one-time renewal and extension. Refer to Renewing a recurring service contract.
