Populating the Resources import template
SECURITY Security level with Admin permission to configure Resources/Users (HR). Refer to Admin security settings.
NAVIGATION > Admin > Organization Settings & Users > Resources/Users (HR) > Utilities > Resource Import > click Import
BEFORE YOU BEGIN Please review the general instructions for importing and updating data in Autotask in this topic: Importing or updating data.
NOTE If you see a check mark in the Must be looked up in Autotask instance? column, it means that, in the Autotask user interface, a value is selected from a list. You may use selections that are currently inactive, but they must exist. Navigate to the page shown in the Description column and look up the valid options.

NOTE You cannot update resource records using an import, only create them.

Source (Similar) Resource ID* | Yes | On the import spreadsheet, you must identify a similar resource who is already set up in your Autotask instance. Any fields that you do not populate on the import spreadsheet (except Two-Factor
Authentication and Single Sign On) will be copied from this source resource. The Resource ID can be found on the > Admin > Organization Settings & Users > Resources/Users (HR) > Resources/Users (HR) > Resources page and on the header of the Resource Management page. Enter the Resource ID of an existing resource. NOTE Importing a resource with a Co-managed security level will not copy account associations or ticket category override settings. |
Prefix | Yes | Enter the resource's prefix. The list of prefixes can be found here: > Admin > Features & Settings > Organizations & Contacts > Name Prefixes and Suffixes. |

Gender | Enter the resource's gender. Valid options are:

Active | Enter the word Active or leave the column blank to import the resource as active, and Inactive to inactivate. To prevent immediate access, set this column to Inactive.
NOTE If you manually create your first resource or co-managing user in Autotask, you will have a resource ID to copy unpopulated fields from. |

Primary Location | Yes | Enter the resource's primary location. Your organization's internal locations can be found here: > Admin > Organization Settings & Users > Your Organization > Internal Locations. |

Enter the resource's type (Employee or Contractor). | |
Payroll Type |
Enter the resource's payroll type (Contractor, Hourly, Salary, Salary Non-Exempt). | |
Internal Hourly Cost | Enter the resource's internal hourly cost. | |
Accounting Reference ID | Enter the resource's accounting reference ID. | |
Payroll Identifier | Enter the resource's payroll identifier. | |
Weekly Billable Hours Goal | Enter the resource's weekly billable hours goal. | |
Travel Availability % | Enter the resource's travel availability percent. | |
Expense Reimbursement Currency * | Yes | Enter the resource's expense reimbursement currency (Multi-currency Autotask instances only). Must be an active currency in your Autotask instance. Your organization's active currencies can be found here: > Admin > Finance, Accounting & Invoicing > Currencies. |
Security Level | Yes | Enter the resource's security level. Your organization's active security levels can be found here: > Admin > Organization Settings & Users > Resources/Users (HR) > Resources/Users (HR) > Security Levels. |

Additional fields will be shown on the import template if Single Sign On has been enabled for selected resources. If SSO is enabled for all resources or disabled, these fields do not appear on the import spreadsheet.
