Knowledge Base and Documents security settings
This article describes the security settings you can configure to grant or restrict access to the knowledge base and document management in Autotask. It also documents the settings of the system security levels in your Autotask instance.
NOTE Document permissions were split from Knowledge Base permissions. For your custom security levels, document management permissions were copied from Knowledge Base permissions.
System security levels are not editable, but you can make copies and edit them to create custom security levels. Refer to:
About this setting
When selected, resources can access the Knowledge Base. When cleared, resources will not see any Knowledge Base-related links, and Knowledge Base will not appear in the Quick Search menu.
NOTE To specify, add, edit, and delete permission for individual resources, click Manage Knowledge Base > Security tab.
The listed settings are enabled by default for the following system security levels:

NOTE The Documentation Management functionality is included in the Autotask Premium edition and the Ultimate edition. For customers with the Essential edition, the Document Management module is disabled.
